Private Tutoring

Students are expertly matched with a tutor that has proven success in working with students in the areas that the student needs addressed. Tutors at Miss Bee's are all experienced with working with children and care about creating a safe and caring learning environment. We are focused on helping students to maximize their success as lifelong learners. All tutors have access to the highest quality of materials, including California State Standards, individualized lesson plans for each grade level & subject, and use of educational software in our Mac Computer Lab & iPads for one-on-one tutoring.

Our goal is to engage students in the process of learning, teaching them to recognize their own strengths & weaknesses, while providing them with the tools to navigate through their education. We also aim to alleviate at-home stresses by providing tools for parents & students to use in their daily routines to support our work here at Miss Bee's.

Paired Tutoring

At Miss Bee's we offer the option of pair tutoring, allowing two students from the same class or family to work with one tutor for the hour. This service provides an opportunity to gain the benefits of private tutoring while also accommodate those with more than one student in need of tutoring. We also find that pair tutoring can provide a wonderful opportunity for students to work together, teaching each other & providing support as they work though their lesson.

Homework Club

Miss Bee's also provides a great space for students who need a designated place to work on homework. At our homework club, students' homework needs are attended to by our teachers with a 5:1 student teacher ratio. In addition to homework help, students enrolled in Homework Club have access to Mac computers, printers, and all project supplies. Students are kept on task, receive the academic support needed to complete homework correctly, and improve their ability to self manage.

Art Studio Enrichment

At Miss Bee's, our art teacher Denny Bales, offers highly extensive art education. Our program is available for every stage of artistic development and enables students of all ages to be introduced to the delightful world of creative arts. The Art Studio enrichment was created to lift the spirit, enliven the soul, and reward the participants and the communities where they live. Our curriculum is based in drawing and painting and is always evolving and never repetitious. This kind of art experience helps to guide students to become creative thinkers and problem solvers. Each program meets and exceeds the content standards given by the California Dept. of Education.

Mac Labs and iPads

Equipped with the latest technology, Miss Bee's has a Mac Lab for Homework Club students & iPads for tutors to use for one-on-one & pair tutoring sessions. Whether students in Homework Club have a paper to write, research to do or online homework posting to complete, our Mac Lab and printer is available daily. Our tutors love to use our collection of iPads to use educational software with students to enhance the individualized lessons for each student.

Enrichment Workshops

Our tutors have a wide range of experience both in & out of the classroom, providing us with a wealth of resources to help create enrichment workshops or classes for our students. Check out our current & upcoming workshops & classes in our Community section on our Bulletin Board.

At Miss Bee's, we believe in educating the whole child & providing experiences in other areas as well. We offer everything- book clubs, art classes, book publishing, graphic/ web design, photography, broadcast journalism workshops, parent info/ help seminars, health education... and everything in between.

Test Prep

Test Taking Skills can cause stress for some students. Here at Miss Bee's we take the stress out of getting ready for State Tests or any test for that matter. Tutoring sessions & workshops can help your child learn the ins & outs of test-taking and really help them with the knowledge they need to face their tests with confidence.

Project Help

Science Fair? Book Report? Social Studies Project? Home Video Project? No problem! At Miss Bee's, we have tutors ready to help you plan and execute any project with great success. With organization tips & techniques, we can show students how to manage their time on long-term projects & create a final project that reflects what the students have learned.

Individualized Home Study Plans

At Miss Bee's, we understand that children & teens all come with both their wonderful gifts & their own unique sets of challenges. We also know that homework, school stresses, or behavioral issues can create an environment that is taxing on both parent and child. One invaluable service provided by Miss Bee's is an Individualized Home Study Plan that will cater towards the family's desired results while also developing life-skills, independence & self-confidence in your child. Our planning expert will consult with your family to find out your goals & create a plan for you to use in your home with weekly check-ins to monitor progress.
